What is Muxtar Music?

Muxtar Music is a music download and listening app made by Muxtar TECH. One program combines queued downloading, a built-in player, easy access to downloaded files, background operation, notifications and a customisable look.

You open the program, choose the action you need and reach the result in as few steps as possible. There are no ads, no required subscription and no tangled processes.

Why was it created?

To make downloading and listening to music simpler, faster and easier. The aim is not to add many menus and needless functions but to present the features that are really needed in daily use clearly and comfortably.

Downloading YouTube videos

We are working on downloading YouTube videos as well as music. This feature is not in a public release yet, so please do not look for it in the current versions. The version that includes it will be announced on this page and in the version history.

What is Muxtar Music?

Is it free? Are there ads or a subscription?
Yes, no payment is needed for the main features. There are no ads and no required monthly or yearly subscription.
Which devices does it work on?
The installation files will appear on this page when they are published. There is no version for iPhone and macOS.
Is the app on Google Play?
No. The installation file is downloaded straight from the Muxtar TECH site. Because the app is not on Google Play, the phone may show a warning during installation. You can check that the file is genuine with its SHA-256 code.
Why does the phone show a “dangerous app” warning?
Android shows such a warning, or asks for extra permission, for every app installed from outside the store. This is normal. The download page has a step-by-step explanation with pictures for Samsung, Xiaomi and other phones: give the permission, choose “More details” in the warning, then “Install anyway”.
How do I check that the file is genuine?
In the “Verify the file” section of the download page every file has its SHA-256 code. Calculate the code of the file you downloaded and compare: if the codes are the same, the file has not been changed.
What should I do if the antivirus shows a warning?
Some antiviruses treat new and little-used programs with caution. First check the file's SHA-256 code. If the code is the same, the file is the one we uploaded. If you are still unsure, you can check the file with a service such as VirusTotal or write to us.
Which source does it download songs from?
The program works with YouTube links: you paste the link and the song goes into the queue.
Where are the downloaded songs kept?
Downloaded MP3 files go to the program's library and play in the built-in player.
How do I find out when a new version is released?
Every new version is published on this page and on the download page, with its list of changes. The download buttons give each platform the newest file for that platform: a new version sometimes comes out for only a few platforms, and on the other platforms the previous version stays the newest.
Is downloading songs legal?
The program is for personal use. Respect copyright and use only content you have the right to download.
